The
Minneapolis Foundation launched the Deleted
for Budgetary Reasons public awareness campaign
in March 2003 to encourage Minnesotans to consider
the impact of proposed State budget cuts on our quality
of life. The goal was to promote genuine public dialogue
about strategies for addressing the budget deficit
and make the best possible choices for Minnesota.
The
campaign is co-sponsored by The
Minneapolis Foundation and the Minnesota
Council of Nonprofits.

Our
counties and cities
provide services that keep every Minnesotan safe.
If we cut support for services like fire, police,
and public works, is that good for Minnesota? Contact
your legislators today. Tell them you didn't vote
for this. Remind them that people's lives are hanging
in the balance of the budget.
Working
families
are the backbone of Minnesota's economy. If we cut
programs families need to help keep them working,
like childcare, healthcare, and job training, is that
good for Minnesota? Contact your legislators today.

Today's
kids are Minnesota's
future. If we cut after school and intervention programs
that keep them safe and off the street, is that good
for Minnesota? Contact your legislators today. Tell
them you didn't vote for this. Remind them that people's

Today's
seniors worked
hard to make Minnesota a great place to live. If we
cut programs that keep seniors healthy and independent,
is that good for Minnesota? Contact your legislators

of the budget.
